Information overflow is confusing! As a beginner I was very
enthusiastic about putting in all the efforts required to
achieve success. Taking advice from everyone, applying
everything no matter it matched with the earlier school of
thought or not. And at one point of time I was stuck and
confused.
Contradictory remarks woke me up. And fortunately by then I was
making some money so I decided to go on my own. Based on my
personal experience with advises read and received from all
over, I will write only relevant content :-) for you here with a
hope that it will be useful.
Let there be a common background color on your entire page. It
will give a feeling on continuity to the visitor. The colored
blocks will do well to highlight the important things but a
single color in background helps. I have realized that many
tables, each with different background color break the sequence
of thought of the visitor, which is not a good sign. We have to
learn to hold the traffic after all.
Don't let your Title Tag exceed 55 characters including spaces.
At least the keywords you are optimizing the particular page for
should be amongst first 55 words. Use of.. tags also
undoubtedly helps. Let them all have your main keywords in them.
I use till on home page and special pages that I am
optimizing with specific objective, like selling surveys through
it, others I use till . It is advisable to use alternate
keywords from onwards. If you are optimizing your page with
three keywords or phrases then do suitable permutation
combination to strike the right balance.
Google and other spiders read first 100 words after tag,
so it?s sensible not to have table tag at the beginning. Instead
let your first paragraph of about 100-120 words be there right
after tag, again with your main key phrases appearing as
often as possible. Please remember if you overstuff any Para or
even the page un-necessarily with key phrases, spiders have a
way of finding it out and there is a chance that such sites are
blacklisted or penalized due to overstuffing of the key phrases.
Try not to get into such a situation to begin with.
Let index column be always on the right side. And content column
on the left. Give spiders content to read first so that it can
check relevancy of theme. Also make sure the index column or the
second smaller column has relevant anchor text for the link page
one will reach through it. If you are optimizing your page with
key phrase home business, prefer to have a link with similar
anchor text or slight variation. Like Home business Online, Free
home business, Home business ideas etc. Also take care that
through this anchor text the page one reaches should also have a
similar theme. May be a page that you have optimized for `home
business? and `make money online? and so on. This suggestion may
be applied to first few links at the top of second column. The
relevancy is thus completely maintained.
Your links page should not have more than 20 links it is
advised. In all your pages last paragraph should also be of
about 100 words with main Keywords appearing as often as
normally necessary.
It is widely accepted and claimed that large rectangle in Google
ad sense is best for index and links pages and Leader Board for
articles' page. Let every page be optimized for 2-3 key phrases.
The background color of each of these ads should merge or be
close to your main background color so that to a visitor it
doesn't look like an ad. People normally it has been observed
don't click the ads.
I may not have listed all the points in a sequence but I am sure
I have not confused you. Information overflow did that to me and
it will be my constant endeavor to steer my fellow home business
entrepreneurs to steer clear of it.
